Door County Coffee's Foodie Favorites

We love EVERY place in Door County, and we hope you have had the chance to explore some of them! We know there are a lot of visitors here this time of year, so we figured it was the perfect time to share a few of our favorite places to grab a meal, from all over the county! Below you can find a few of our favorite places many of us here at Door County Coffee frequent, along with some of our favorite dishes they offer!

1: The Cookery – Fish Creek: This is a great place to stop in Fish Creek, and enjoy some really incredible food. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, the Cookery has perfected it all! Just like us, The Cookery loves to use fresh ingredients, sourced locally as much as possible! That’s why their Cherry Pancakes are one of our favorites – pancakes with cherry sauce and whipped cream. What could be better?!

2: The Inn at Cedar Crossing – Sturgeon Bay: If you are looking for a place to grab a great plate, this is your stop! Besides finding fun ways to use our coffee and teas in their drinks, we love their sandwiches, like the Turkey and Cranberry, or the Pastrami with Horseradish Brie, you can’t go wrong with either! These guys also love to use seasonal and local ingredients…can you see a trend here?!

3: White Gull Inn – Fish Creek: Not only does White Gull have a Cherry Stuffed French Toast, ( and yes, that is exactly as delicious as it sounds) that was named “America’s Best Breakfast”, a title given by Good Morning America, but they also have AMAZING Fish Boils! Fish Boils are a great summer tradition here in Door County and a perfect way to end any day!

4: Donny’s Glidden Lodge – Sturgeon Bay: If your perfect meal looks like great steak or seafood, with a perfect view of Lake Michigan, Donny’s Glidden Lodge is the perfect place for you! From steak to shrimp, lobster to lamb, this place has anything you could want for a delicious dinner. A fan favorite of our Door County Coffee employee’s is the Surf and Turf, because who doesn’t love a lobster tail and a perfectly grilled tenderloin?!

5: Julie’s Park Café – Fish Creek: If great food, great bloody mary’s and mimosas and dog friendly patios are your thing, then Julie’s is the place for you! From delicious omelets like Ultimate or the Farmers, to great sandwiches like the Crispy Pork Ribeye to the Cuban, Julie’s has something for everyone! And if you find yourself on a walk with your pup and you are too hungry to go on, no fear, you can enjoy breakfast on their patio with you dog!

6: Trattoria Dal Santo – Sturgeon Bay: This is the perfect spot for some incredible Italian food in a city we love so much! If you like a great appetizer, get the Fritto Di Calamari, it is to die for! They also have incredible options for steak, salmon and so much more. This place is a perfect stop when you are in downtown Sturgeon Bay!

7: Scaturo’s – Sturgeon Bay: If you want a great pastry, breakfast, lunch or dinner, Scaturo’s is your 1 stop shop! From their bakery to their food truck, they offer a great variety, with something for everyone! If you need a place to stop for a great brunch option on your way home after a weekend in Door County, this is your place! You can find all your brunch favorites here on Sunday’s!

8: Stone Harbor - Sturgeon Bay: A beautiful view of the marina, greta food, an extensive and delicious salad bar, along with the best Tiki Bar around, Stone Harbor is a great place to take the family any day of the week. Grab a chair, grab a drink and watch the boats pass by until the sun sets...this truly is a must stop in Sturgeon Bay!

And as always, we offer incredible breakfast, lunch and bakery items right here in our very own café! Like the great places listed above, we love to buy seasonally and locally sourced ingredients, to give you the freshest and most delicious meals we can! Try our Chicken Cherry Melt, or our Kitchen Sink Bake. We also have a quiche of the day and a strata that is to die for. Plus, don’t forget, we have some pretty incredible coffee to enjoy with your meal too!
