Blackberry Shortcake Breakfast Smoothie

This is a user-submitted recipe. It was not made in the kitchens of the Door County Coffee Cafe.
Featured ingredient: Blackberry Shortcake Coffee 10 oz. Bag Ground
Door County Coffee’s “Blackberry Shortcake” coffee; 2 Tbsp. coffee to 1 cup boiling water. Steep 10 minutes, then cool (I like to make this the night before and refrigerate)
½ cup of The Brew (see above)
½ cup cottage cheese
½ cup frozen raspberries or strawberries
¾ cup chipped ice
¼ cup honey or simple syrup* (adjust to taste)
Place The Brew and cottage cheese in a blender, and blend about a minute until completely smooth. Add frozen berries and blend a few seconds, then add ice and honey or simple syrup. Blend on high about a minute until smooth to your liking.
*simple syrup: add ¼ cup granulated sugar to ¼ cup very hot water. Stir until dissolved. Allow to cool. Refrigerate unused syrup
