Coffee and Bacon Scented Churros

This is a Door County Coffee Fan recipe. It was not made in the kitchens of the Door County Coffee Café.
Ingredients
Featured ingredient: Country Morning Blend Coffee 10 oz Bag Ground
Churros:

- ½ cup water
- ½ cup brewed Door County Country Morning Blend Coffee
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 each cooked bacon strips, chopped
- 2 ½ quarts oil for frying
Dusting:

- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
Chocolate Coffee Crumble:

- ½ tablespoon Door County Country Morning Blend Coffee grounds
- 1 tablespoons all purpose flour
- ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
Preheat
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Churros
- In a small sauce pan over medium heat add the water, brewed coffee, sugar ¾ of the bacon and vegetable oil and bring it to a boil
- Remove from heat and stir in the flour and mix until a ball is formed
- Heat oil in a large pot to 350 degrees and place the dough in a piping bag and pip strips of dough into the oil
- Fry until golden brown - then once cooked, remove and lightly pat on a paper towel
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Then toss the churros in the mixture
Chocolate Coffee Crumble:
- In a large bowl, place the coffee grounds, cocoa powder and all purpose flour and set aside
- In a small sauté pan, melt the butter
- Then pour the melted butter over the mixture, and using your hands, mix until evenly combine
- Place the mixture onto a baking pan and place into a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes
- Once mixture is cooked remove from oven and gently break apart with a spoon
- Serve atop a small mound of the crumble and garnish with remaining bacon bits. Optional - serve with raspberry sauce for extra flavor.
