Featured Product: Spiced Apple Pie 8oz ground coffee

Ingredients

  • 8 medium-sized apples (washed and dried)
  • 2 - 11 oz bags caramel bits (I use Kraft)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup Spiced Apple Pie coffee, strong brewed
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 lb each of melting chocolate (milk, dark, and white) -Brands like Ghirardelli, Guittard, Callebaut, Valrhona, Merchens, or Wilto (Can be found online or at craft stores)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Place a stick in the center of each apple.
  2. Make the caramel sauce. (see below). Dip each apple completely into the melted caramel sauce up to the bottom of the stick. Let the excess caramel drip off the apple back into the bowl. Place each caramel apple onto the baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper. Refrigerate to chill and set the caramel.
  3. Decide which designs you would like to make for your apples. Melt the desired chocolate according to the instructions on the package.
  4. Dip each caramel apple into chocolate. Refrigerate the chocolate apple before adding a second flavor.

To make the caramel sauce

  1. Combine caramel bits and hot brewed coffee in a microwave-safe bowl
  2. Heat in 1-minute intervals on high, stirring vigorously between each, until smooth and fully melted
  3. Stir in the heavy cream until incorporated and creamy

NOTE: Use 1/4 – 1/3 cup coffee for thicker sauce, or up to 1/2 cup for thinner sauce. Watch carefully to avoid burning the caramel.
