Tiramisu Cupcakes

Dig into the ultimate dessert experience with these luxurious Tiramisu-Inspired Chocolate Cupcakes. Layers of flavor come together perfectly, starting with a coffee-soaked ladyfinger nestled at the base of a rich, moist chocolate cake infused with Vanilla coffee.

Topped with a velvety mascarpone frosting, delicately sweetened, and splashed with vanilla, these cupcakes are finished with a sprinkle of crushed ladyfingers and decadent chocolate bark pieces. A subtle hint of marsala wine elevates the flavor, making each bite a sophisticated treat reminiscent of the classic Italian tiramisu.

Perfect for coffee and chocolate lovers alike, these cupcakes are a decadent centerpiece for any gathering or a special indulgence just for you!

Start by brewing a whole pot of White Christmas coffee. You will need it!

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (18 oz)
  • 4 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup coffee, brewed (White Christmas)
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 15 Lady Fingers
  • 6 cups coffee, brewed (White Christmas)
  • 2 TBSP powdered sugar
  • 2 TBSP marsala wine (optional)
  • 15 extra large cupcake liners
  • Dip ladyfingers into the coffee mixture, then add to the bottom of the cupcake liner

Directions for cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Add your cake mix, eggs, coffee, buttermilk, and oil to a mixing bowl. Beat until blended.
  • Open the package of ladyfingers. Put 15 ladyfingers aside. Place your cupcake papers into each cavity of your cupcake pan.
  • Mix the coffee, powdered sugar, and marsala wine in a bowl. Quickly dip one ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and then place it into the cupcake paper. (You must act soon before Ladyfinger falls apart).  Do this for the remaining ladyfingers.
  • Fill each cupcake liner halfway with the cake batter. Bake for approx. 22-23 mins
  • While the cupcakes are baking make your frosting

Frosting Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 8 ozs mascarpone cheese
  • 1 tsp White Christmas coffee, brewed

Frosting Directions

  1. In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until peaks form. Add the cornstarch and powdered sugar and continue mixing until blended. Mix in the mascarpone cheese and coffee until smooth. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag for decoration or use a frosting knife to spread onto the cupcakes.

Toppings:

Crushed ladyfingers: Sprinkle over the frosting for texture and a nod to classic tiramisu.
Chocolate bark pieces: Add for a touch of elegance and crunch.

Note: Tip if you do not have large cupcakes tins. Place 15 (3) inch biscuit rings on your baking sheet. Place one of your extra large cupcake papers inside each ring.

Makes 15 super large cupcakes or 30 small cupcakes
